Nintendo’s fun and a bit silly game, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, has been fully shown off before it comes out on April 16th for the Switch and Switch 2. Along with all the new information, Nintendo has said that players can now have same-sex relationships and choose non-binary characters. This keeps a promise they made to be more welcoming after some problems with the older game on the 3DS.
When the first Tomodachi Life game came out on the 3DS back in 2013, many players were upset because they couldn’t have same-sex couples in the game. They started asking Nintendo on social media to add this feature in an update. At first, Nintendo didn’t seem to care much, saying Tomodachi Life wasn’t meant to be like real life or to make a statement about society. But later, they changed their tune. They said sorry and promised that even though they couldn’t change the 3DS game, they would be more welcoming in any future games.
