Once you have a way to get into the Vox Relay in the north of Paradise Island, you can head up there. But there’s a problem. The northern part of the island is almost completely blocked off by the Protectorate. The only way across is a bridge that has many soldiers guarding it, and they don’t want to help you.
When you talk to the guard at the gate, you’ll have a few different choices about how to get in. We’ll explain each one to help you with the quest called ‘For Whom the Bridge Tolls’.

Option 1 – Hand over Protectorate traitors
The easiest way is to do what the bridge guard tells you to do. Bring in the people the Protectorate calls traitors. These are Charlton Weintraut and Ida Routledge.
Charlton lives in Westport. Go there and talk to him. If you pass a talking test, you can convince him to help. If not, you need to find his house in the abandoned area. Look for his addiction to Aunty’s Choice products to use against him. If you already did the ‘Brain Benders of Aunty’s Choice’ quest, you’ll find Charlton at the office in Fairfield instead.
For Ida, she’s already dead, but you need to prove this to the guard. Go outside Fairfield to the high building. This is the same place where you learned to double jump. The people there will tell you Ida jumped into the machines. To get proof, you need to go there and pull out her arm to show the guard.
Also, any time you help the Protectorate will make Inez angry. But this way might be better than the other choices.
Option 2 – Hand over Inez
If you bring Inez to the bridge, the guard will notice she’s someone they want. You can stop fighting between them, but the guard will let you cross if you give Inez instead of the other people they ask for. If you agree, you’ll lose Inez forever as your partner. This is not a good idea, but you can do it if you want to be mean.
Option 3 – The old fashioned way
Of course, you can always just shoot your way through. It will be hard because this place has many Protectorate soldiers and robot guns. But with a good plan, you should be able to get past them.
Option 4 – Find another way across
If you go east instead, you’ll find some rocks that lead to a half-sunken ship in the water. With the double jump, you can hop across and get to the northern part of the island. From there, go west past the dock and you’ll find an elevator that takes you up right next to the entrance for the Vox Relay.
