Remember when we played Honkai: Star Rail and had to pick where to go after Penacony? It didn’t seem to matter much because we ended up going to Amphoreus anyway. But in the game’s story, we followed Black Swan’s advice. After all the bad stuff that happened there, players weren’t too happy with her, especially when we found out others who follow the path of Remembrance were mixed up in it all.
But now, we owe Black Swan a big apology. The latest Honkai: Star Rail trailer, called ‘Exotale: Scene 8,’ showed us that all the other choices would have been way, way worse.
How do we know this? Well, Kafka explains to Silver Wolf the different futures that Elio sees for each place the Astral Express could have gone. This trailer also makes us think again about Elio, the mysterious figure from the Stellaron Hunters. It seems like the cat they have might be Elio himself, or maybe a way he looks into the future, changing its eye color as it does.
Option #1: Lushaka
If the Express went to Lushaka, they would have had a fun pirate adventure on a water planet. But while they were busy, The Herta would have found out what was happening on Amphoreus and tried to handle it alone. This would have been a terrible mistake, because she would have been taken over by Irontomb, turned into Rubert III, and destroyed everything in the universe.
Option #2: Melustanin
If the Express went to Melustanin, they would have dealt with the problems from the Stellaron Disaster. Meanwhile, the people of Xianzhou would have agreed to Jingliu’s plan to kill an Aeon. They would have used the remains of The Propagation to attack Yaoshi. But this plan would have gone wrong. The Xianzhou would have been infected by The Propagation, becoming a new Swarm Disaster. They would have started a war led by Jingliu, who would have become a new Lord Ravager.
Option #3: Patrevia

So, it turns out that Black Swan bringing us to Amphoreus, where we’ve faced many terrible things and will have a big space war, is actually the best outcome. Thanks, Black Swan.
As for what happens on Amphoreus, Elio hints that the ending will be a mix of good and bad. This is pretty typical for Honkai: Star Rail. But with the Trailblaze there, you never know for sure what will happen.
The next update for Honkai: Star Rail, version 3.7, is coming out next week. It will be available on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. This update will finish the story on Amphoreus, add a new game mode called Currency Wars, and feature Cyrene on the character banners.
