The latest update for Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X) is now available, bringing exciting new content. This update finally unveils the next part of the Persona 5 crossover story and introduces a new member to the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. It’s been a while since we’ve seen new characters join the team, so this addition offers more story to explore while we anticipate the main story’s next chapter. We also get to know one of the upcoming Phantom Idols through a new Synergy Story.

Here’s a breakdown of everything new in P5X Version 2.4, based on the full patch notes.

New Phantom Idol – Futaba Sakura (Oracle)

The original Navi is here! Futaba Sakura joins the game as the latest Navi unit, and she’s quite powerful. Futaba can change an enemy’s elemental weaknesses on the fly, making them very vulnerable to attacks. She can also apply the Virus status effect to enemies. This effect lowers every element’s resistance by one tier. For example, Reflect, Null, and Drain become Resist; Resist becomes Neutral; and Neutral becomes Weak. Elements that are already Weak will receive an additional 25% damage.

She’s a highly valuable character to get, especially for players who prefer not to spend real money and have been saving their in-game currency.

The Crossroads of Fate: Pyramid Arc

The next chapter of the P5X and P5 crossover story has arrived with this update. As expected with Futaba’s arrival, this part of the story takes us back to Futaba’s Palace from Persona 5, which is now presented as a massive and intricate pyramid. It will be interesting to see how the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and Desire interact again, with both Riko and Futaba now part of the group. Players can also look forward to facing new boss challenges and earning rewards.

Returning Phantom Idols – Fox & Queen

Following the trend of bringing back popular characters, starting November 13th, Fox and Queen will be available for two weeks on their own special “Most Wanted” banners. Both of these characters are strong 5-star units that players might want to add to their collection. If you already have them, this is a great opportunity to increase their Awareness level and make them even stronger.

New Synergy Bond – Masaki Ashiya (Cherish)

Masaki Ashiya is the next Synergy Bond character coming to P5X. When Version 2.5 is released in a few weeks, he will be known as the Phantom Idol, Cherish. This update allows players to get to know him as a character before he becomes playable. As is standard with new Synergy Bonds, his story content in this update goes up to Rank 10, with the remaining story to be added in a future update.

Futaba Maid Outfit

A new outfit will be available for purchase in this update for just under 3000 Meta Jewels. This outfit is for the new Phantom Idol, Futaba, and is a recreation of her maid outfit that was available as DLC in Persona 5.

New Phantom Pass

This update also marks the start of a new season for the Phantom Pass. Players will need to purchase the new pass if they wish to continue earning rewards by completing their Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal objectives. This also means that if you haven’t completed the current pass yet, you should do so quickly before it expires.
