The ending of version 3.7 in Honkai: Star Rail delivered the emotional and bittersweet conclusion that many players anticipated for the Amphoreus story arc. The threat of Irontomb has finally been stopped, and the universe has been saved from the forces of The Destruction, at least for the time being. However, this victory came at a tremendous price. The Emperor’s Scepter was destroyed, and as a result, the version of Amphoreus that we have come to know throughout our journey has turned into stardust and vanished.
For a large portion of the player base, this outcome was not the happy ending they were hoping for. It raises a difficult question: Is this the result that Phainon had to endure? Did he have to suffer through over 33 million cycles of despair and death only for everything to eventually disappear? It feels incredibly unfair to think that all of their struggles led to total annihilation.
However, the answer to that question is no. If the story ended with total destruction, it would go against the main message of this year-long saga, which has always been about defying destiny and finding hope against all odds. Furthermore, it would be a major disappointment for fans if we never got to see these beloved characters again in the story.
Here is the important detail that changes everything: Even though it might look like everyone is gone at first glance, the Chrysos Heirs and the world of Amphoreus are actually still alive in a different form.
The Current State of the Chrysos Heirs and Amphoreus

Remember that we managed to save all of our memories and experiences from Amphoreus inside a special book titled “As I’ve Written.” This book already contained all of Cyrene’s stories from the world’s history, spanning more than 33 million cycles. Thanks to the power of The Remembrance, these memories are not just simple words written on a page. Our friends and their entire planet actually continue to live on through these preserved memories. If you need proof of this, there is plenty of evidence available in the game.
After you finish the main story quests, there is a new side mission available called “As I’ve Written.” You can start this quest in the area known as “Beyond Time: An Eternal Page.” If you go there, you will discover that the Chrysos Heirs are actually waiting for you. You will also find other inhabitants of Amphoreus there, such as Gnaeus and even your personal Dromas companion, regardless of what name you gave it.
This side quest makes it very clear that Amphoreus is currently in the process of being born into the universe as a real, physical place. The people living there are being created based on the memories contained within the book “As I’ve Written.” During the quest, the Trailblazer travels from one world to another to spread the word about the book, which helps speed up Amphoreus’s recovery and rebirth.

What makes this even more certain is that Herta and Screwllum have successfully recovered most of the data regarding Amphoreus from the destroyed Scepter. This recovered information is also aiding the birth of this new world, ensuring that the planet and its history are not lost forever.
Herta explicitly confirms that Amphoreus and the Chrysos Heirs will eventually come into existence. She mentions that it could happen in a year, or it might take 10,000 years, but the process is inevitable. This means that Amphoreus and our friends have a real future ahead of them, and none of the sacrifices made during this long journey were in vain.
The Special Fate of Cyrene

There is one exception to this rule, and that is Cyrene. She has made a unique choice to lock herself and the original version of Amphoreus into a causal loop. This was done to prevent any possibility of Irontomb resurfacing in the universe again. During the quest, Herta explains that Cyrene might still appear in the form of a Memosprite to travel around the universe at some point. However, it is clear that her fate is special and different from everyone else’s. She is one of the candidates to eventually become Fuli, the Aeon of The Remembrance, at the very end of time. We also learned that March 7th is another candidate for this role.

Do you need even more proof that the Chrysos Heirs are still around? If you have a Chrysos Heir in your character roster, simply log into the game and check your messages. You will likely receive a text message from one of them! That is correct: They are now able to send us text messages, which they could not do before the ending of the story. For example, Castorice has adopted two baby chimeras and has reached out to ask for name suggestions for them.

They are alive and well, slowly recovering from the struggles they faced. While the ending remains bittersweet, it is the sweet taste of hope that lingers in the end. The phrase “See you tomorrow” is no longer a farewell or a goodbye. Instead, it has become a promise of a future meeting.
