League of Legends Update 26.04 looks like it will bring some small fixes to make the game more fair, according to the latest news from the game makers.
A new message from Riot Games Lead Gameplay Designer Matt Leung-Harrison shows they are focusing on making small adjustments to improve the game.
This update is the last big change before the First Stand event, so it gives us a good idea of what the game will be like when the first big League of Legends tournament of the year starts.
Update 26.04 Sets the Stage Before First Stand
Riot is still checking how recent changes have affected the game while making small fixes to different characters and roles.
The update also shows they are working to make sure all players in different parts of the game are happy as we head into the first big competitive event.
“After this update, things should be in a pretty good place overall,” said Leung-Harrison in his message. Overall, Update 26.04 looks more like a small tune-up than a big change.
Instead of making big changes, the game team seems focused on adjusting what already exists and fixing things that don’t feel quite right.
Game Speed and Vision Changes Being Looked At
One main focus is the jungle role, especially when players pick unusual jungle characters. After Update 26.03 brought Faelight and early vision changes, Riot is still watching how these changes affect jungle paths, attacks, and early pressure. A full update cycle is needed to properly judge the impact of these changes, but according to Riot, early information shows some jungle players are having trouble.
Update 26.04 will include boosts aimed at helping these less common picks keep up. Among the characters getting jungle boosts are Brand, Darius, Fizz, and Teemo.
With First Stand coming on Update 26.05, Riot is using this change to reduce characters that benefited too much from recent system or item changes, while also giving small boosts to forgotten or underused characters. The goal is to prevent extreme cases rather than change the whole game style — and possibly give First Stand players more room to try new things in Fearless Draft.

On the game-speed front, Leung-Harrison said game times have already gone down, likely because of earlier tower plate bulwark reductions. While Faelight and vision updates are still being checked, he seems confident enough to avoid big reversals for now.
Update 26.04 seems to be the usual pre-event update aimed at getting the game into a stable place. Full update notes are expected in the coming days, giving a clearer picture of what fans and teams can expect as First Stand training gets closer.
