People who look closely at game data were correct. A new warlock class is coming to Diablo 4. It will be part of the expansion called The Lord of Hatred. This expansion comes out in April. I played the game at Blizzard a few weeks ago. I cannot give you all the details yet. But I can say the warlock is the dark side of the paladin class. The paladin brings light. The warlock brings darkness. They are like two sides of the same coin.
But there are more reasons to be happy about the warlock. First, it is a brand new class for the Diablo series. The warlock has never been in any older Diablo games. Second, and this is the big surprise, it is coming to two other Diablo games too. These games are Diablo Immortal and Diablo 2 Resurrected. To make this very clear: this is the first new character class for Diablo 2 in 25 years. It is being released today. You can get it in a paid expansion for Diablo 2 called Reign of the Warlock. It costs $25.
The warlock coming to Diablo 2: Resurrected starts a new time for the game. The game will now go past its old, classic version. There will be two versions of the game now. One is called Diablo 2: Resurrected. This is the old version that stays the same. The second is a new version called Reign of the Warlock. This version will push the game forward with new work. Is this a risky thing to do? Yes. But Blizzard told a group of writers, “We do not want to mess up the Mona Lisa.” I will write more about this later.

Blizzard announced the warlock for all three games in a Diablo Spotlight video today. There are other big announcements for Diablo 4 too. Here is the list of what is new:
- A fishing skill is added to the game.
- The skill tree is being changed. It will be much bigger. It adds new skills and more ways to make your character special.
- A new endgame activity called War Plans. You can make a list of things you want to do. You can change the list. You get rewards for finishing the list. It is like a new version of Adventure Mode. It gives you things to do after the story is over.
- A very rare event called Echoing Hatred. This event sends endless waves of enemies at you. You get loot based on how long you stay alive.
- The Horadric Cube returns. It lets you mix materials and items together.
- You can now use loot filters.
- Charms and Sets are coming back to the game.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred comes out on April 28th. You can play it on PC and game consoles.
There are also new things for Diablo 2. There are Enhanced Terror Zones. There are new quality of life features too. This includes loot filters, which many people wanted. There are advanced stash tabs. There is a loot-tracking database called the Chronicle. It writes down everything you find and where you found it. This is very helpful.
The warlock plays a little different in each of the three games. Each game has its own style. The warlock in Diablo 2 might be the most complex. I played this version too. There is a skill tree for demon taming. You can control the demons you fight. You can use them like pets. Or you can eat them for power. This adds another layer of things to manage.
