Yakuza 3 Remastered will be removed from sale after Kiwami 3 launches

The studio behind the Yakuza series, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, has shared important news about the availability of Yakuza 3 Remastered. Starting next month, when Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties comes out, the older remastered version will no longer be available for individual purchase. This change affects how new fans can access this classic entry in the series.

Players who already own Yakuza 3 Remastered do not need to worry. The studio confirmed that everyone who purchased the game previously will still be able to download and play it without any issues. The removal from sale only applies to new customers who have not bought the game yet.

For gamers who are new to the Yakuza franchise and want to play the original version of Yakuza 3, the options will become limited. After the release of the new version, the only way to experience the original story will be by purchasing the complete Yakuza series bundle. This bundle includes all the main games in the collection.

The development team expressed their excitement for the upcoming release. They mentioned that the launch of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is less than a month away. The studio stated that everyone at the company has put a lot of effort into creating this title, and they are eagerly waiting for players to finally get their hands on it.

The studio also took a moment to thank the global gaming community for their support. They acknowledged the respectful feedback they receive from fans around the world. While they cannot reply to every single comment, they assured players that they listen to all the voices and suggestions shared by the community.

Staying true to their creative vision is very important to the team. They hope that players will enjoy the completely new experiences they have designed for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties. This new version promises to offer fresh content while keeping the spirit of the original game alive for both old and new fans.

If you act quickly, you still have a chance to buy Yakuza 3 Remastered as a standalone game. It is currently available for £16 on the PlayStation store and Steam. On the Xbox store, the price is slightly higher at £18. Alternatively, you can look for a physical copy of the Yakuza Remastered Collection, which includes the remastered versions of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 together in one package.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is scheduled to launch on February 12, 2026. It will be available on several platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and older generation consoles. This wide release ensures that most players will be able to experience the new version when it arrives next year.
