Caedrel Gets Emotional as Los Ratones Finally Secures Wins in the LEC
Los Ratones had a really tough start when they first joined the LEC. In their opening week, they lost badly to all three teams they played, looking like they didn’t belong. The second week didn’t start much better. But now, things are starting to change, and the team is showing they might actually be good enough for the top league.
Caedrel’s team, made up of popular streamers, has become a big deal in League of Legends lately. He was a big reason why the lower-tier European leagues (ERLs) got so many viewers when Los Ratones was playing there.
Now that they’re in the LEC, Caedrel’s watch parties are still attracting huge audiences. However, both he and the players have seemed really stressed. Los Ratones started the season looking like the weakest team in the league.
But they’ve managed to turn things around and show they have what it takes. Caedrel couldn’t hide his feelings on his stream after their first win, and he was clearly happy after their second victory.
Los Ratones Might Have a Chance in the LEC After All
Since Los Ratones is mostly made up of players who are known for creating content and building their personal brands, rather than aiming to win world championships, many people doubted if they could compete with the big, established esports teams.
And, for the first week, those doubts seemed justified. The matches were not close, and Los Ratones struggled to make anything happen on the game map. They clearly lacked the teamwork and coordination they showed when they were in the ERLs.
However, one player, Nemesis, has really stepped up his game. He’s definitely the best player on the team right now. And now that another player, Baus, is playing more steadily in the early game, Los Ratones looks much stronger and more balanced. They have a player they can rely on to carry the game, which should give the team more direction and a clearer strategy.
The team has also been doing well in practice matches, but this success hasn’t shown up on the main stage yet.
One player explained, “Practice matches have been going pretty well. I think many people would be surprised by how we do against some teams. But the issue with practice is that there’s a lot of unpredictability, and that makes you think your results are okay. Then, when you play a real match where things are more controlled, you realize that those practice games didn’t really mean much.”
Basically, Los Ratones seems to do better when things are a bit chaotic. When games slow down and they have to outsmart their opponents, that’s when they tend to struggle.
But Caedrel still believes they can win, and he’s very invested in their success. He even cried after their very first win in the league, clearly worn out by the difficult start but relieved that they finally got a victory.
After that, Los Ratones managed to come back from being behind by a huge amount (10,000 gold) the next day and win the game. This is something that almost never happens in professional play. It would be better if they didn’t get into such a bad situation in the first place, but the fact that they had the strength to win when things looked so hopeless is impressive. If they can keep playing like this, they have a good chance of making it to the playoffs.
Is Los Ratones the best team in the LEC? No. And they won’t be in the LEC past this first part of the year, as they are only in the league for a short guest appearance, similar to Karmine Corp Blue. However, this is a big step towards showing that, even though they are a team focused on entertainment, they deserve to be in the LEC. It’s possible they could even get a permanent spot in the league in the future.
