Important Date: Mind Sports Club Transfers Closing Soon for 2025/2026 Season

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has announced that the official time for players to move to different clubs for the 2025/2026 competition year will end on February 28, 2026.

This period, which started on November 1, 2025, gives players who are already signed up a chance to officially change which club they belong to before the new competition year begins. All requests to change clubs must be sent in and finished before the deadline. This is important so players can play in local, national, and MSSA-approved games and events during the 2025/2026 season.

Here are the rules from MSSA:

  • Players can only be signed up with one official club at a time, unless they are also part of a school club.
  • A player stays with their current club until their official club change is completed and written down.
  • To play in approved events, a player must have a current and valid club registration.

This deadline for changing clubs is very important. It helps keep records accurate, makes sure competitions are fair, and helps with picking teams for all the different mind sports that MSSA covers. This includes board games, war games, esports, and other recognized mind sports.

Clubs are strongly advised to send in all the necessary papers long before the closing date. This will help avoid any delays that could stop a player from being able to play. After February 28, 2026, club changes will not be allowed, unless there are very special reasons as explained in the MSSA rules.

MSSA is dedicated to having clear rules and managing things openly. This helps mind sports in South Africa keep growing and become more professional.

If clubs or members need more information, they should look at the official MSSA announcements or get in touch with the MSSA General Secretary.
