TheBaus Leaves Pro League After Los Ratones Fails to Reach LEC Versus Playoffs

Simon “TheBaus” Hofverberg makes videos about League of Legends. He has said he is done playing as a professional. This comes right after his team Los Ratones got removed from the chance to play in the LEC Versus playoffs. It happened on the very last day of the regular season.

The streamer told everyone during his live show on February 11. A person watching asked him in the chat about what he would do next.

TheBaus Stops Playing Pro League of Legends

TheBaus saw the message from the viewer. He talked about what he planned to do with Los Ratones.

“I can only tell you about me. When I started with this small team one year ago, I never thought I would be a full pro player. That was not my goal at all. I just wanted to give it a try for one year and then quit. It makes me sad that we did not win because I think I still had some more to offer. But for me, I am finished with pro games.”

This news means the first sure change to the team lineup since they were knocked out. No one knows what will happen to Los Ratones next. LEC Versus was a one-time special tournament by invite. There is no sure chance it will happen again.

Los Ratones’ Surprise Journey Comes Up Short

TheBaus shared this after Los Ratones had a great run that got fans excited all over the world. It felt like one of those classic stories where the little team fights the big ones in League of Legends. They got invited from the European Regional League to play against 10 strong teams from LEC.

The players began the season with zero wins and four losses. Lots of people thought they would keep losing. But they turned it around. They won important matches week by week and moved higher in the list.

They reached their high point by beating G2 Esports. That is Europe’s team with the most wins ever. Many people watched that game.

Still, it was not to be. On the final day, Los Ratones lost to Team Vitality. Vitality even let TheBaus use his special hero Sion. That is the champion that helped start his streaming years back.

The loss hurt extra bad because of the situation. Los Ratones only had to hope that Karmine Corp, Natus Vincere, or Fnatic would win their games that day. That would get them into playoffs. But every one of those teams lost. The odd thing happened just like that. The special story came to an end.

What Lies Ahead for Los Ratones?

Los Ratones did not make the LEC Versus playoffs, so they are out of the event. They do not have a spot in the regular league setup. That means they will not come back to LEC the way it is now.

Right now, no one knows the next step for Los Ratones. If they want to keep playing together, they need someone new for the top lane spot.

TheBaus plans to go back to streaming full time and making videos. He became well-known there with his different ways to play top lane and his skill in solo queue matches.
