Electronic Arts has officially shared the detailed plans for the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 6. This new season brings exciting news for players and fans, including a larger prize pool and the return of big offline events. The total money available to win has increased to $7 million USD, which is $1 million more than what was offered in Year 5. The roadmap also shows a clear path for teams, starting from open qualifiers and leading all the way to the championship victory.
The organization has focused on making the competition more accessible and rewarding. By expanding the event locations and increasing the rewards, they aim to build a stronger community. The schedule is packed with action, giving teams many chances to prove their skills throughout the year.
Three Major International LAN Events
Year 6 will feature three major international LAN events, each with a prize pool of $2 million USD. These tournaments will bring the best teams from around the world together in person to compete. The first big event is the Split 1 Playoffs. It is scheduled to take place from July 7 to July 11, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event will be part of the larger Esports World Cup.

The competition continues later in the year with the Split 2 Playoffs. These matches are set for October 29 to November 1, 2026. The location for this event is the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Finally, the season will conclude with the Championship. This ultimate showdown will happen from January 28 to January 31, 2027. It will be held at the Daiwa House PREMIST Dome in Sapporo, Japan. This marks the third consecutive year that the championship has taken place in Sapporo.
Complete Calendar for the Season
The season begins with the Online Open Qualifiers. There will be four rounds of these qualifiers. The first round is scheduled for February 28 to March 2. The second round follows quickly on March 7 to March 9. The third round takes place from March 14 to March 16. The final round of the open qualifiers is set for March 21 to March 23.
Following the qualifiers, the Pro League Split 1 will run from April 5 to June 15. All matches for this split will be played online. Alongside the Pro League, the Challenger Circuit Split 1 will also take place. This circuit includes four separate events. The first event is on April 11 to April 13. The second is on April 25 to April 27. The third event is scheduled for May 23 to May 25. The final event for the first split is on June 6 to June 8.

There is a Pro League Qualifier scheduled for July 24 to July 26, which will also be held online. After that, the Pro League Split 2 begins. This second half of the season runs from August 22 to October 4. The Challenger Circuit Split 2 will run at the same time. It includes four events: August 22 to August 24, September 5 to September 7, September 26 to September 28, and October 10 to October 12.
To wrap up the season, there will be a Last Chance Qualifier. This final opportunity for teams to qualify takes place from November 20 to November 22. Like most of the season, this event will be held online.
Important Updates for Players
Several changes are being made to improve the competitive experience for both professional and amateur players. The ALGS Online Open has been rebranded from the Preseason Qualifiers. Registration for this is already live, giving players a chance to start competing on February 28 for a spot in the Pro League.

A significant change involves Legend Bans. These bans are now being implemented in the Challenger Circuit. This move is intended to create a more consistent competitive environment. Another update focuses on roster stability. There will now be one transfer window per Pro League split. This allows teams to build stronger rosters and develop better team stories over time.
Finally, there are new rules regarding points integrity. For Championship Points to count, players must participate in at least 12 Pro League matches with their team. Alternatively, they can play in an equivalent number of matches at a LAN event. This ensures that players are actively competing and contributing to their team’s success.
Monica Dinsmore, the Head of Esports at EA, commented on the new plans. She stated, “This roadmap clearly reflects that we’re investing in the long-term future of the ALGS.” She added, “By expanding competition, increasing prizing, and showing up in key regions around the world, we’re building an ecosystem that brings players and fans closer together.”
Following the finale in Sapporo for Year 5, Year 6 is set to begin on February 28. The community is hopeful that this season will be the biggest one yet for Apex Legends.
