Fallout 76 Receives Major Update with Ghoulish Fixes and Quest Improvements

Bethesda has just rolled out another significant update for Fallout 76, and it is now available for download. This patch targets a wide range of issues, from quests and localization to armor and general gameplay stability.

For instance, the Ghoul Vault Boy and Ghoul Vault Girl lamps in the Workshop are no longer incorrectly listed as requiring power. Additionally, players who are Ghouls wearing a disguise can now properly interact with Silas and the Rust King during the “Welcoming Committee” quest.

    Armor and Clothing Adjustments

    Several modifications have been made to armor and clothing items. The dynamic names for Adrenal and Lucid Armour mods now appear correctly on armors equipped with Legendary Effects. A visual bug with the Cutthroat Helmet, where the color scheme differed between the Pip-Boy preview and when worn, has been fixed.

    Players can now wear additional headwear and eyeglasses alongside the Ulysses Mask. The Deathclaw Tamer Hat will no longer remove a player’s facial hair. Furthermore, clipping issues with the gloves on the male variant of the “Rust Raider Light Outfit” and the female variant of the “Rust Raider Medium Outfit” have been resolved.

    C.A.M.P. and Workshop Updates

    Significant improvements have been made to C.A.M.P. items. The Wall Mounted Oven and Pumpkin Pie descriptions now correctly mention that they collect meat or slices over time. Visual effects for the Hunting Lodge Fireplace are now stable, and the Industrial Fusion Core Recharger no longer makes noise when unpowered.

    Issues with the Winter Retreat Prefab windows and missing collisions in the Dino Bite Gift Shop have been addressed. The Red Shingle Wallpaper icon now matches its actual appearance, and the Medicine Cabinet Stash Box icon has been enlarged. The brightness of the Farmers Market Letters Set icons has been reduced.

    Sound effects in the Wrangler Casino Shelter have been fixed, and the Ohio River Docks no longer incorrectly state they must be placed on foundations. The Abraxodyne Truck now requires the correct amount of materials to craft, and Car Grill lights point in the right direction. The Bounty Board health values have been adjusted to match similar items.

    Camp Allies can now path correctly around the “Radscorpion Agitator.” The Babydoll Head Bobber now bobs as intended. Text on the “A Fresh Delight!” and “Build Mass with Sass” posters has been fixed, and the back of the “Build Mass with Sass” poster no longer mirrors the front. The word “Frame” has been removed from the “Blood X Rust” photo frame title.

    Challenges and Events

    Challenge tracking has been improved. The Super Duper Mart Cooler now unlocks correctly after collecting Abraxodyne Intel Briefcases. Burning Springs “Discover Location” challenges trigger upon entering the required areas. Rerolled challenges now display the expiration timer properly.

    Deploying a C.A.M.P. near Checkpoint Ridge now correctly completes the “Deploy a C.A.M.P. in Burning Springs” challenge. In events, the Beastmaster in “Gearin’ Up” now comments correctly based on whether the event has been completed before.

    Localization and Gameplay Fixes

    Localization support has been expanded. Windy’s dialogue and the Ghoul’s opening lines are now localized in most supported languages. Loan Shark’s voice lines are properly localized in Italian, and Pop’s lines are localized in Japanese. Multiple Legendary Mods are now correctly translated in Japanese.

    Display issues with debug text for “Show map region name markers” in non-English languages have been fixed, as well as translation errors for Outfits in German. Gameplay fixes include ensuring the Grunt Hunt reloads properly if a player disconnects during their first attempt.

    Silas and Eugene no longer resurrect after relogging following the completion of “Prove Your Resolve” or “Execute Silas.” Player Ghouls must once again wear a disguise to enter Crater Core and Fort Atlas. The projector at Starlight Drive-In no longer disappears when turned off, and fishing locations in Ash Cave have been updated.

    Map markers for players, nukes, and corpses now display correctly in areas from “The Ghoul Within” update. Animation issues with the Atomic Cast Fishing Rod have been fixed. Cletus Brimstone’s Fire Cloak AOE no longer affects players outside the encounter.

    Head Hunts now complete correctly even if the target is killed too quickly. Slocum’s Fat Stack lights stay on after fast traveling. A Legendary Exchange Machine has been added to Hocking Hills Station. Abraxo caches now respawn as intended, and the Deathclaw Handler targets players correctly. Priceye Salad now provides the correct damage resistance and hunger reduction.

    Weapons and Legendary Mods

    The “All Rise” weapon has been updated. Juggernauts and Steady Legendary Mods have been added to the default mods (this does not affect existing items). The unique effect has been increased from +10 HP to +50 HP.

    The Elementalist Legendary Mod now grants +5 Rad Resistance, and its effects display correctly in the Item Card.

    User Interface Improvements

    Recipe display issues in certain languages have been fixed. Mouse cursor positioning when setting item quantities has been improved. The Adrenal Legendary mod description field is no longer blank in the Pip-Boy.

    Power Armor is no longer listed as a valid option in the Reflex mod box description. Help Menus for “Death” and “Fast Travel” have been updated to include Highway Town. An index issue in Workshop Menus preventing some items from appearing has been fixed.

    Grammatical errors in the Athens National Guard Armory Terminal have been corrected. Reflex mod effects now display properly on the Pip-Boy. The “Build” button hint is no longer listed in the hint bar when using a gamepad in the Workshop menu.

    Spelling issues with the Glowing Fasnacht Buffoon mask have been fixed. The Pip-Boy preview size for the Action Abe Plushie has been increased. The Razorback Rucksack name has been corrected in the Workbench and Crafting menus.

    Reward HUD notifications now display correctly when unlocking. A typo causing the Tailgate Bed to appear as “Taligate Bed” has been fixed. The life percentage meter no longer changes from yellow to black after leaving the idle animation.

    Quest Fixes

    Issues in the “Welcoming Committee” quest where players could not interact with Silas or the Rust King while wearing a Ghoul disguise have been resolved. In “Insurrection,” character hellos and idles have been fixed.

    “Dirty Laundry” has received multiple fixes: an objective no longer changes without talking to Bodhi, objectives no longer trigger earlier than intended, and the quest progression no longer skips the “Collect Abraxodyne intel briefcases” objective.

    The Loan Shark now speaks his dialogue options correctly. The Deathclaw no longer gets stuck during “Prove Your Resolve,” and visual issues with the Ambush Captains power armor have been corrected.

    Miscellaneous Fixes

    The Hocking Hills Station Robot now has more voice lines. The Ulysses Outfit no longer clips when equipped on female characters. Incorrect bullet decals on impaled heads in Burning Springs have been fixed.

    Animations on the Dino Peaks Photo Board have been aligned. The Deputy Badge Backpack Flair now correctly states it is craftable in Tinker’s Workbenches rather than Armor Workbenches. NPCs in Highway Town no longer T-Pose on sleeping bags.

    The Mounted Armored Deathclaw Head can no longer be sold to NPC vendors. Player Ghoul characters no longer clip through collars on various outfits. The Responder Medallion Flair no longer stretches oddly while moving.

    The Head Hunt Flair icon in the Workshop menu has been enlarged. The Rust King flag has been removed from locations outside his direct influence. Trading no longer kicks players from the menu when traveling away.

    The Special Loadouts Menu no longer appears blank when using the Punch Card Machine as a new character. Teammates can no longer see stored items in a teammate’s camp menu.

    Known Issues

    Due to production difficulties, French voiceover for the Burning Springs Update is currently unavailable. Subtitles are recommended for the best experience. The Gleaming Depths Weekly Challenge has been temporarily deactivated while the team investigates a reported issue.
