G2 is proud to announce the launch of Red Aura, a new online comic series that brings our history to life. This project is inspired by the ambition, achievements, and emotional stories that have marked our journey over the past ten years. We worked with famous Japanese Art Director Runbel and the studio KISAI Entertainment to create this fantasy world. KISAI Entertainment is known for their work on webcomic adaptations of AVATAR: The Last Airbender and The Beginning After the End. Red Aura takes our legacy and puts it into a brand-new fantasy setting. The series debuts today in Japan on WEBTOON’s LINE MANGA platform. Fans in other parts of the world will be able to read it on WEBTOON in English and other languages at a later date.
Red Aura tells the epic story of heroes whose determination and courage mirror the story of G2. It is a saga that spans a decade, filled with ambition, hard times, and great victories. However, readers will not have to wait ten years to see how this story ends. The story is set in a world of magical nomads. These nomads have incredible powers that allow them to shape the reality around them. We follow the journey of a young girl named Asa. She comes from nowhere, but she dares to dream the biggest dream of all: to become the greatest Nomad. The series mixes fast-paced action, emotional themes, and funny moments. This style reminds readers of the great shonen series that are loved by people all over the world. It is a magical world filled with unique powers and political games. The characters face personal challenges that force them to grow beyond what they thought was possible. If they fail, they will suffer brutal consequences in this competitive world. Each part of the story takes inspiration from a piece of G2’s history. However, it reimagines these events to be closer and more personal to the characters’ own experiences.
The series will be available globally in both Japanese and English. More languages will be added later. The first 10 episodes of Red Aura are already available to read in Japanese on LINE MANGA. New episodes will be released every week. There will be over 40 episodes in total for the first season. The release date for the series on WEBTOON’s English-language platform will be announced soon.
Sabrina Ratih, the Chief Operating Officer of G2, shared her thoughts on the launch. She said, “For over 10 years, G2 has chased excellence and defied expectations. Red Aura is a reflection of those values.” She continued, “G2 is at the heart of digital-first entertainment, and with Red Aura, we’ve created a story that anyone can enjoy, whether they’re an esports fan or not. We see this as the next step in G2’s evolution into an entertainment powerhouse, with a beautifully crafted story inspired by the challenges overcome on our journey. We’re doing something completely new here, taking a big leap into the unknown, but are really excited for readers to experience and enjoy this new world with us.”
Runbel, the Art Director for Red Aura, also shared a message about the project. Runbel said, “I’m from Japan and grew up surrounded by manga culture. When I first saw this project and the early storyboards, I was reminded of the excitement I felt reading manga as a child, and the dreams and aspirations I had for the future. I could feel the fiery energy of the characters, and I felt I had come across a work that was full of passion and vitality.”
Runbel added, “As we grow up, we gradually lose the ‘innocence of childhood.’ Reading this work reminded me of many of the dreams I had as a child. I am very honored to have been involved in this work, transcending national borders. Thank you.”
