The organizers of the Esports World Cup have officially revealed the details for their 2026 event, and the numbers are staggering. This year, the tournament is offering a total prize pool of $75 million. This amount represents a new record for the competition, showing a $5 million increase compared to the previous edition. The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) is once again hosting this massive event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The competition is scheduled to run for seven full weeks, starting on July 6 and concluding on August 23, 2026.
This upcoming tournament is expected to be the largest in the event’s history. Over 2,000 professional players will travel to Riyadh to compete. These players represent more than 200 different gaming clubs from over 100 countries around the world. The competition is fierce, as athletes will battle it out across 25 separate tournaments. These tournaments cover 24 different popular esports titles, ensuring a wide variety of games are showcased.
The way the prize money is distributed is designed to reward both individual skill and team success. A large portion of the funds is dedicated to the Club Championship. Specifically, $30 million is set aside for this category. The Club Championship ranks the top 24 clubs based on how well they perform across multiple different games. The club that finishes in first place earns a very significant share of this money. In previous years, teams like Team Falcons have claimed this top spot, highlighting the prestige of the Club Championship.
On top of the club rewards, there is also a massive amount of money going directly to the players who win individual game tournaments. More than $39 million is allocated specifically for these game championships. The remaining funds from the $75 million total are used for special awards. These include MVP recognitions for standout players and the Jafonso Award. The Jafonso Award is a special bonus of $50,000 given to a player or club that manages to win a Game Championship after qualifying through a Last Chance Qualifier. This award is named in honor of João ‘Jafonso’ Vasconcelos, a professional EA FC player for Manchester City.
Mobile gaming titles are seeing some of the largest individual prize pools this year. Three specific mobile games are leading the way, each offering $3 million to their winners. These games are PUBG Mobile, Honor of Kings, and the men’s division of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Additionally, there is a women’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang invitational tournament. This specific event features a prize pool of $500,000, highlighting the growing inclusion of women’s competitions in the esports scene.
The full seven-week schedule has been locked in, and it includes the debut of a new title, Trackmania. The schedule is packed with high-stakes matches every week. Here is the breakdown of the events and their prize pools for each week of the competition:
