The team at 1047 Games has announced that a fresh Arena Royale mode will be coming to Splitgate Arena Reloaded later this week. This new addition aims to bring a different flavor to the game’s battle royale experience.
In this Arena Royale mode, a total of 24 players will join together to form six teams, with four players in each squad. The developers designed this mode to last about as long as a standard arena match. A key feature here is the respawn system: as long as at least one teammate is still standing, the rest of the squad can jump back into the fight. However, this changes when the final circle arrives. Once that happens, respawns are disabled, and the focus shifts entirely to survival.
According to 1047 Games, the mode is set to go live on January 22nd. They promise that Arena Royale will provide a smoother flow of action and significantly reduce the amount of downtime players usually experience in traditional battle royale games.
The matches are designed to take place within a single biome. This keeps the gameplay tight and focused. By doing this, Arena Royale emphasizes constant action, quick fights, and split-second decision-making rather than long periods of moving across the map or setting up. The result is a faster and cleaner version of the battle royale genre that still feels distinctly like Splitgate.

Alongside the new mode, the upcoming update for Splitgate Arena Reloaded will introduce two new maps named Trihard and Runway. Trihard takes the action up into the clouds, while Runway is set in a vibrant neon cityscape that draws inspiration from the busy energy of Shinjuku. The update also brings a new endgame mastery camo for players to unlock.
Additionally, a limited-time event called Teabag Takeover will be available. The name is exactly what it sounds like. 1047 Games describes this event as a celebration of a classic gaming gesture. To participate, players simply need to jump into matches and perform teabags on their opponents to earn points. These points can then be used to unlock new rewards themed around the event.
The Teabag Takeover event is scheduled to start on January 23rd. Until then, players can check out the video below for more details on the Splitgate Arena Reloaded update.
Splitgate Arena Reloaded originally began its life as Splitgate 2. However, after the sequel failed to meet expectations, 1047 Games took it back into beta last July. This decision led to several layoffs at the studio. In November, the studio announced that Splitgate 2 would relaunch in December, arriving with its new name, Splitgate Arena Reloaded.
Since the relaunch, player numbers on Steam have not been particularly high. Despite this, the developer has stated that these charts do not necessarily measure how much fun players are having with the game.
